REVIEW OF RESEARCH ON RARE EARTH INDUSTRY UPGRADING: REALISTIC DILEMMA, INFLUENCING FACTORS AND ALTERNATIVE PATHS

Abstract

Abstract: Facing great changes unseen in a century and intensifying global geo-economic political game, China's rare earth industry is in a critical period of transformation and upgrading. Solving the upgrading problem and choosing high-quality and efficient upgrade paths, requires further studies. Existing researches focus on the realistic predicament, the influencing factors and paths. Lacks discussion on the whole industrial chain including front-end mining and metallurgy, quantitative analysis methods, content of influencing factors and multi-chain cooperative upgrading. This paper presents the future research on the whole industrial chain, integrating qualitative research and quantitative research methods, mechanism and cooperative path of multiple chains．

摘要： 我国面临百年未有之大变局，国际地缘经济政治博弈加剧，我国稀土产业迈入转型升级的关键阶段。如何破解稀土产业升级难题，选择高质量、高效率的升级路径，是当前亟需关注和解决的重要课题。学界主要围绕稀土产业升级的现实困境、影响因素及路径开展研究，取得了较为丰富的成果。然而，目前的研究有待进一步深化：在研究对象上，包含前端采冶环节的整个产业链升级的探讨不足；在研究方法上，适当引入定量分析有助于识别稀土产业升级的机理与选择合适的路径；在研究内容上，影响因素相互作用和多链协同升级方面的研究尚有不足。未来应增加对稀土采选、冶炼加工和应用环节整个产业链升级的研究，综合采取定性研究与定量研究方法，丰富稀土产业升级机理及多链条协同升级路径的研究。
