Since the second half of 2008, the global financial crisis trigged by American’s sub-prime crisis had quickly spread to the entity economy. China is facing a shrunk external market and deficient internal demands. The economy steps into a downturn. The mining industry encounters a low market demand, decreasing prices, abruptlydescending profitability and competitiveness. This paper analyzes the challenges and opportunities so that the China’s mining industry can select appropriate competition modes to increase their core competitiveness.
