Water resource shortage worldwide makes water information disclosure of water-sensitive firms a hot point. Elements and features of water information disclosure are a vital means for firms to transmit water resource operation, social responsibilities and sustainable development strategy to governments, society and stakeholders. This paper, based in 2021 water information disclosure from global top 40 mining firms ‘ sustainable development reports, uses qualitative method via NVivo software to study key words frequency, coding classification, matrix and clustering of firms ‘ water information disclosure, and to analyze it elements and features of water-sensitive mining firms. Firm ‘s water information disclosure mainly covers 3 aspects, 15 topics, regarding water resource management, stakeholders and environmentally sustainable development. Information disclosure focuses on firm ‘s water resource and operation, little on indirect stakeholders ‘ demands. Global firms ‘ attention on water management compliance, strategy and performance, employee involvement and external cooperation varies. This study presents theoretical reference and suggestions for water-sensitive firms to further improve water information standards and quality.

This paper uses input/output theory and structural decomposition to analyze the dynamic evolution and mechanism of energy consumption before and after financial crisis in Guangdong province. The reason in energy consumption increment in Guangzhou province mainly lies in economic growth and population size, and it had been slowing down after financial crisis due to a declining energy consumption intensity, adjusting final demand structure and improving producing structure. Internal exports are the major driving force contributes to the energy consumption increment, largely impacted by gross fixed assets and urban resident consumption after financial crisis. Input/output analysis reveals that domestic transfer in contributing to the gross energy consumption reduction is outstandingly less international imports.

REGIONAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT BASED ON RELATIVE RESOURCES CARRYING CAPACITY MODEL: A CASE STUDY ON KAIDU RIVER KONGQUE RIVER BASIN
WANG Fei, WANG Chang-jian
Resources & Industries    2017, 19 (1): 108-115.   DOI: 10.13776/j.cnki.resourcesindustries.2017.01.008
Abstract266)      PDF(pc) (1671KB)(515)       Save
This paper, based on a case study on a small river basin in arid zone, uses improved relative resources carrying capacity model to measure the relative resources carrying capacity of Kaidu river Kongque river basin from 2000—2011, and discusses the temporal spatial evolution and variance of resources carrying capacity in six cities within this basin, which verified the value of the improved relative resources carrying capacity model used in small river basin. Bayangol has relatively good economy and land resources, but limited water resources. In recent years, Kaidu river Kongque river basin has an excess in population carrying capacity, but an extreme overload to overload in economy carrying capacity, mainly influenced by Korla’s overloaded economy carrying capacity. Viewing from temporal spatial perspective, the six cities within Kaidu river Kongque river basin vary largely in relative resources population carrying capacity, and are relatively stable in their economy carrying capacity.

Resources & Industries    2015, 17 (1): 115-121.
Abstract5078)      PDF(pc) (1287KB)(806)       Save
This paper studies the evolution and features of Xinjiangs industrialization, urbanization and energy consumption, and their interaction from 1978—2011 is also analyzed by using dynamic economy model. Since 1978 Xinjiangs energy consumption has proportionally increased with industrialization and urbanization, showing Granger causality. When Xinjiangs industrialization level rises by 1%, energy consumption will rise by 4776%; when urbanization level rises by 1%, energy consumption will rise by 4047%. The influence of industrialization and urbanization on energy consumption is far higher than that of energy consumption on industrialization and urbanization, and energy consumption has a bigger promotion to industrialization than to urbanization.

Resources & Industries    2014, 16 (6): 124-128.   DOI: 10.13776/j.cnki.resourcesindustries.2014.06.019

This paper, based on IPAT model, analyzes the rebound effect of carbon emission of Xinjiang in its energy consumption during 1990 to 2010, finds a rising emission but falling intensity. The chief factor is scale effect. Energy efficiency from technical innovation is quite limited for carbon emission. The second industry contributes a lot to falling intensity. This paper suggests to focus on technical advances, adjusting industrial structure to control effectively the carbon emission in the future.
