This paper discusses the industrial situation of China's chrome resource from resources and supply & demand, which is marked by a shortage of chrome resource, highlydependence on export, lack of longterm stable supply. This paper presents some workable strategies from investing foreign chrome mines, diversifying export channels through global cooperation, intensifying internal survey and exploration, comprehensively developing associated chrome resource and reducing waste, raising recovery of low grade ores, recycling the chromiumbearing wastes and setting up strategic reserve. This paper aims to offer reference for the healthy growth of China's chrome industry.

As urbanization goes fast in China, the demand of land resources is far beyond its supply. One of solution is to reform village-in-city, to extensively use land and to increase the land utilization efficiency, in line with governmental policies. This paper, based on a case study on Kunming city, applies the construction land standard per capital and GIS data as indexes to estimate the land-saving potential to reform the village-in-city, with the results that the lands have been increased by 1792.79 hm 2 and 1288.87 hm 2 inside  and outside urban planning zones, respectively. This method is of significance to improve the land extensive utilization efficiency.

Abstract2109)      PDF(pc) (1198KB)(704)       Save

RS and GIS are a helpful tool to measure the soil erosion, to quickly monitor the dynamic changes in soil erosion distribution and extent. This paper, based on a case study of the upstream of Fenhe Reservoir in Yellow River, applies the Remote Sensing data of Landsat MSS (1976), TM (1990) and ETM+ (2002) to dynamically monitor the land erosion with the results indicating that the soil has been eroded extensively during 1976 to 1990, and turned to a good condition in general during 1990 to 2002, but still worsening locally. It is a big task to maintain the water and soil.
