This paper, based on a case study on Bazhou area, analyzes the industrial development features of Tahe river stream, and studies the economic-environmental effect induced by ore resources development, and concludes that mining industry contributes above 50% to the gross economy yield in 1995—2009, with a rising trend. The oil & gas and nonmetallic mining is the leading industries in Bazhou. Mining industry needs larger employment, and mining units have stronger concentrating capacity and contribute over 40% to the fixed asset investment. Mining industry increases with waste water discharge and sulfur dioxide emission. Mining tax is a vital part in Bazhou,s local tax income, but its economic effect has not been fulfilled, leading to descending potential. Ore resources shall be effectively used and extend its chain to promote a concerted development between ore resources development and economic protection.
