Chinese manufacturing industry is blocked from integrating into the global value chain by two ends. “The Belt and Road” initiative provides a historical opportunity to upgrade Chinese manufacturing industry, also presents a challenge in search and design, management and brand marketing. This paper, based on DEA and VAR models to empirically study the factors and theory of rising value chain in manufacturing industry with results indicating that foreign direct investment, technical innovation and industrial servicing play the key roles, of which foreign direct investment plays the key role, followed by technical innovation and then industrial servicing. This paper presents suggestions on intensifying nation's cooperation, constructing double value chains, boosting technical innovation, exerting anti-graded transfer, transforming to manufacturing service, and supporting manufacturing servicing, which can upgrade manufacturing industry and promote China's position on manufacturing in global value chain.

This paper uses a non-expected output EBM ultra-efficiency model to measure the industrial green water resource efficiency of 11 provinces and upper-, middle- and down-stream of Yangtze river economic zone during 2002 to 2018, and employs Kernel-Density to estimate the core density curves, and applies spatial Dubin model under fixed effect to calculate the industrial green water resource efficiency of Yangtze river economic zone on the basis of panel data adaption check, and analyzes its temporal-spatial heterogeneity. The industrial green water resource efficiency varies obviously in different provinces/cites, much higher in down-stream than middle- and up-stream. IGWRE is of outstanding spatial overflow effect, with spatial concentrating in nearby provinces/cities. Decomposition of effect suggests that IGWRE is, directly and indirectly, related to economy, industry, environmental regulations, industrial structure, social investment, foreign openness level and infrastructures.

This paper, based on China's resource industries data during 2000 to 2016, studies the temporal-spatial concentration of resource industries via Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI), EG, Locality Entropy, and its changing trend from Theil Index, and analyzes its economic effect of geographic concentration by means of CES. China's resource industries show a remarkable geographic concentration with variances among each industry. Its temporal-spatial changing trend shows a different spatial distribution with leading industries varying with locations, and indicates a diminishing variance among entities within concentrating area, but increasing across areas. It also displays a geographic transfer. Their geographic concentration can promote regional economy, but some may be little even negatively. This paper presents suggestions for resource industries in different regions from boosting resource industries chain management, expanding industrial concentrating effect, intensifying network and coordinated development and materializing resource sharing.

This paper uses concept and method of ecosystem servicing values to establish an estimating system of water-energy-food servicing values, which is used to estimate its servicing values of Guizhou's water-energy-food on economy and ecology and their ties. The gross servicing values is stable with declining. The servicing value of water resource lies in moderation of natural ecology and plays a critical role on the gross servicing values. Energy has a larger positive servicing value on social economy, but at a much larger negative ecological cost, which is the root cause of falling servicing value of WEF. The servicing values of food is increasing, providing a support to supply of social economy. The servicing value of WEF tie in Guizhou is small and unstable, so it suggests Guizhou fulfill water resources advantages in order to stabilize its servicing values. Boosting the servicing value of energy to social economy needs to prevent its impact on natural ecology, and to prevent panel pollution on food production, and to develop tourism and ecological agriculture. Moreover, moderation of WEF tie to improve the stability of system.

Environmental taxation is vital means for environmental issues. All nations, developed or developing, actively enforce environmental taxation. This paper uses bibliometric method to visualize the research advances, popular points, and network evolution regarding environmental taxation via Citespace 5.5.R2 from 2799 environmental taxation papers during 2000 to 2019 among Web of Science, CNKI database. American scholars have made outstanding achievements, Dutch and Swiss scholars are readily for international exchanges, but Chinese scholars are largely isolated, lack of global exchanges even internal cooperation, resulting in low quality papers in China. Foreign highly cited papers are largely focused on cases and carbon taxation, while internal on references of foreign taxation on China, theoretically, with absence of empirical studies. Scholars globally study largely on environmental taxation effect, design and optimization with different focuses. In recent two decades, Chinese scholars have a clear research network at four stages. Foreign researchers have formed an entire research system with alternative key words. This paper summarizes the deficiency of Chinese scholars and presents outlook for future studies, aiming at providing references for boosting environmental taxation research for Chinese.

The land surface temperature in summer in Haidian district, Beijing in 2004, 2009 and 2017, was inverted by the single-window algorithm on the basis of the Landsat image data. The variation characteristics of urban heat island effect were analyzed quantitatively, and the causes of heat island effect were discussed. The results showed that: 1)During 2004 to 2017,the urban master planning positioned Haidian district as a livable city and required it to build a high-quality greening system. Through the construction, the proportion of heat island area in Haidian district fell to 34.12% from 36.22%, which was stronger in southeast than northwest in spatial distribution and diffusional over time. 2)Several newly-added strong heat island areas in Haidian district, were mostly related to the increase in built-up land area as well as increase in height and density of buildings. Improved urban greening didn't work well in decreasing temperature, but sizable parks or green lands did. During 2004 to 2017, the proportion of built-up land in Haidian district fell to 48.72% from 52.13%, and then rose to 51.44%, the proportion of unused land fell to 6.23% from 9.27%,and then rose to 9.18%, the proportion of green land rose to 39.32% from 30.46%, and then fell to 36.20%, which were consistent with the trend that the proportion of heat island decreased and then increased in Haidian district. 3) Traffic conditions also had an important impact on the enhancement of urban heat island effect, and led to generate other potential heat sources as well. This paper aims to provide conditions for finding effective measures to control the heat island effect by studying the law of heat island effect changing with land use and traffic conditions.
