Copper industry depends upon China's comprehensive national power and internal demand. China still has a rising metallic consumption which is required by the current industrialization stage. The copper price fluctuation has become a vital factor to influence China's copper profitability. The fluctuated raw material cost is weakening the profitability, thus confining the selection of raw materials. This paper, based on the China's copper consumption actuality and issues, exampled by Jiangxi copper group, compares it with other industrial listed companies operation, and simulates their relativity between retained profits and copper price rising rate. It presents the necessity of setting up enterprise risks guarantee fund, and gives a detailed operational guidelines from policy, capital source and fund uses.

GEOGRAPHY-INCLUDED REGIONAL ECONOMIC GROWING MODEL AND CASE STUDY
    ZHENG Lin-chang,CAI Zheng-chao, ZHANG Lei
    Resources & Industries    2012, 14 (5): 182-188.
    Abstract1500)      PDF(pc) (1469KB)(1202)       Save

Variance of resources and environment determines the depth and extension of human activities, but previous studies disdained the variance of regional economic growing model to geographic environment. This paper, based on Harold-Thomas model, establishes a regional economic growth model including geography. A quantitative study on China via regression method shows spatial distance and terrain play a vital role in regional economic growth, with bigger effect of the former than the latter while the latter prevails in central-western China. This verifies the regional economic growth model including geography and the existence of terrain's effect on regional economic growth.

Land use division can reflect the regional variance in land use and is a key part in land use planning, and is a vital means in land use controls as well, which makes sense in making a right land use direction, determining land use structure, raising land intensive use and promoting regional coordination. This paper reviews the concept, connotation and scale of land use, and expands the three categories of land use division, based on a case study on Bengbu city, Anhui province, and applies land use synthetic division mode and land use functional division mode to study land use division and spatial controls during municipal land use planning.

Zhongyuan area is a traditional call of Henan province, where is of low village land use, scattered layout and big percentage of low-middle productive farmlands. This paper, based on experiences of trial villages, discusses the major modes of village consolidation in Zhongyuan area, based on a case study on Lilin town, including suburb integration mode, compressing newly-constructing mode, integration of many villages mode, poor village reconstruction mode. Under farmer ’s wills and protection of local features, new rural construction shall be based on land consolidation focusing on farmland, water, road, woods and villages, which can not only optimize the rural resource allocation, but also give solution to the limited funds in village construction. It promotes a mutual urban and rural development, a win-win mode.

This paper gives an introduction to the global platinum group metals resource, supply-demand status of Pt, Pd and Rh, and their consumption structure changes, and analyzes strategy and approaches to China's platinum group metals industry. The global financial crisis led to a big fall in Pt, Pd and Rh supply and demand, meaning a change in consumption structure. However, as the global economy recovers, this situation goes better. Approaches to China's platinum group metal supplydemand conflict lie in technological development and establishing management system, which can ensure a sustainable development of platinum group metals resource and industry.

The western China to Qinghai-Tibet area covers Gansu, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Tibet and western Sichuan, where distributes lots of sedimentary basins hosting abundant oilshale resources. The oilshale resources reach to 195.263 billion tons in these areas, about 4.44% of the total in China, the oilshale potential is 193.039 billion tons, 28.82 of the total in China, indicating a big potential in these areas. The genesis of oilshale can be classified as sapropel , humosapropelic and humic, formed in lakes, marshes and lagoons, where the oilshale is quality, most more than 10% in oil-bearing rate. The oilshales are distributed in the upper Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic, becoming younger southwards in oilshale formation ages. This paper, based on a prioritization of exploration targets, selects 9 target areas as most favorable areas, 7 as favorable areas, and 4 as sub-favorable areas.

The currently-used 1999 Solid Mineral Resources and Reserves Classification Code has induced some issues due to its absence of geological confidence G. To revise this code means to clarify the two levels of G. In order to meet the UN's 1997 classification framework, G means the exploration stage. Block level shall still be remained in China's system. It is important that the Chinese Code be compared with global codes, and at the same time, be remained stable in its terms.
