Tongling city as a typical resources-based city depends solely upon resources economy, although it has a good economic development trend. When the resources are depleted, the economy declines. Now Tongling enters into a key time for development as resources are gradually consumed, which necessitates an economic transition. This paper, via SWOT analysis, discusses the pros and cons, challenges and opportunities of economic transition, concludes that Tongling should select a favorable strategic economic transition based on its advantage of resources so as to optimize the economic structures.

This paper applies the eco-footprint to calculate the eco-footprint and ecological loading capacity of Yaozhou district during 1949 to 2007, and predicts the future ecological trend via SPSS. The ecological footprint per capital increased from 0.262 hm2 in 1949 to 1.632 hm2 in 2007, 11.73% in annual rise rate. From 1983 to 1995, the ecological footprint per capital had a fastest rise rate of 58.28% by 0.876 hm2, three times the beginning of liberation. The ecological loading capacity per capital increased slowly from 0.551 hm2 in 1949 to 1.274 hm2 in 1980s, 19.19% in annual rise rate, and decreased to 0.912 hm2 in 2007. As population expanded, the ecological footprint has a big gap to ecological loading capacity, leading to an ecological deficit in 1993, which indicated that the ecological system had exceeded the limit of ecological loading capacity in Yaozhou district. The results reveal that the eco-footprint per capital is 2.6136 hm2 and the ecological loading capacity per capital is 0.6437 hm2 in 2020, with an ecodeficit up to 1.9699 hm2. This situation would get worse if the current growth mode shouldn't be changed.

This paper, based on the rating mechanism, markets and prices of global oil, classifies the evolution of global oil prices into five stages. According to the global oil market prices in every stages, the supply-demand relation is a basic factor to determine the oil price. The cost plays a key role in oil price. However, the US dollar has a big influence over the global oil price. The current oil price and market is manipulated. Moreover, some dubious factors, such as wars, natural disasters, accidents and other sudden outbursts, can also lead to a short fluctuation in oil prices. All these factors mutually exert an influence and control over the global oil prices.

Urban Land shows a different development pattern under the combined effects of the driving forces. Taking Qianxi county as a case, this paper uses extreme standardized method to deal with the county's eight townships driving forces indicator data and classifies the driving forces effects according to the total scores. Based on a system of urban land quality driving forces analysis layers, superposition analysis has been done on the basis of the land classification map and the factor scores level layers using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. The result shows that the effect degrees and mining potential space of driving forces to land quality are different. Land production potential and basic establishment influence the land quality most distinctly, and they distribute from the lowest mining potential to higher mining potential on 4 standards. Urban location and urban convergency scale influence the land quality more distinctly. Urban location distributes from mining potential moderate to the highest mining potential, and urban convergency scale distributes from lower mining potential to higher mining potential on 3 standards. Regional economy develop level and integration service ability don't influence the land quality distinctly. Regional economy develop level is in mining potential moderate and higher mining potential, and integration service ability is in lower mining potential and mining potential moderate on 2 standards. The different of driving forces spatial effects reflects the strength or weakness of the urban on this aspect, and can guide the urban construction.

Governmental relevant policies have proven to be effective. This paper classifies the interaction into three stages, low level coordination stage, conflict stage and how level coordination stage. The most poor karst areas in Guangxi are in the first stage, only a few in the transition from the first to second stages. The economic development mode of “first deterioration-then-rehabilitation” is not workable in the poor karst areas in Guangxi.
