Abstract:

The “Twelfth Fiveyear Plan” gives a new objective to optimize China^,s energy structure that the proportion of natural gas consumed will be raised to 8% from 4% at the end of the “Eleventh Five-year Plan”. Coal-bed methane, as an unconventional gas resource, will be industrialized quickly. This paper, based on a view of industrial development, uses Michael Porter^,s diamond model to analyze China^,s coal-bed methane industry from productive elements, demand conditions, supportive industries,industrial competitiveness, governmental administration and opportunities & risks, and summarizes strategy to China^,s coal-bed methane resource industry in the “Twelfth Five-year Plan”.
